Membership

The Shangri-la Association of Cultural Preservation (the Association) has been established by a group of volunteers to protect local ethnic culture assets so that they can be passed on to future generations. The Association focuses on Tibetan culture: art, music, handy crafts, religion, folk lore and poetry. The Association is registered in the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (also known as Gyalthang or Shangri-la) and is recognized and encouraged by the local government.

In order to achieve its objectives, the Association needs to raise significant funds to maintain its key projects (The Thangka Academy) and to establish new projects as required under its institutional objectives. The Association raises capital through membership at four levels as follows.[• Founding Member , •Organisational Member , • Individual Member , • Associate Member]

Details of the benefits of each category of membership and associated membership fees are provided below.
